Church
Services
There are several weekly services
in the Parish. All services are centred around the exposition
of Scripture and once a month there is a communion service
at each centre:
10.30am
St Aidan’s Blackheath
A
conservative but contemporary
service following the Prayer Book structure and using piano,
organ, violin and guitar. This is our best attended service.
8.45am St
Peter’s Mt Victoria
Similar to St Aidan’s but with
organ music only and a little more traditional.
5pm St
John’s Hartley
(Meets 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, except during winter [June, July and August] when it only meets on the 1st Sunday)
Style as at St Peter’s
3pm St
George’s Mt Wilson
(2nd Sunday of each month only)
This
is a conservative service. Robes are usually worn.
Growth Groups
The
parish follows the principle of Sunday gathering, complemented
by midweek small group meetings in people’s homes. They are
called ‘Growth Groups’ to reflect their purpose to assist
members to grow in faith. Groups vary in size from half a
dozen to nearly
20. They do not meet in school holidays.
Growth Groups have three components: studying the Word
of God, praying and sharing about life over the previous week.
Tuesday 10.30am at
Blackheath
Wednesday 10.30am at
Blackheath
Thursday 10.30am at
Mt Victoria
Missionary Prayer Breakfast
A monthly prayer breakfast
focussing mainly on Mission is held between 8.30-9.30am in a parishioner’s
home on the third Saturday (notified in advance in the weekly
notices).
Support
Groups
Two groups, St Aidan’s Care & Share and
St Peter’s Helping Hands meet
monthly to support the work of those two churches and
have fellowship together.
Care & Share meets the
second Friday every month at 10.30am in St Aidan’s Committee Room.
Helping Hands meets every
3rd Monday at 1 pm in St Peter’s Hall.
